Non-Newtonian effects in flows of some elastico-viscous liquids in curved channels

Résumé On considère l'écoulement initial de certains liquides non-newtoniens dans un canal courbe (borné par les parois d'un tuyau et un noyau de retenue) qui commence quand les forces contraignant le liquide de couler en lignes courbes le long du canal cessent subitement d'agir. On donne des calculs explicites dans les cas où les limites rigides sont (i) des parois excentriques et circulaires et (ii) des parois confocales et elliptiques.     

Some homoclinic phenomena in the three-body problem

We prove the existence of transversal homoclinic points in the collinear three-body problem, restricted and general, and in the planar circular restricted three-body problem. As a consequence the shift of Bernoulli is proved to be included as a subsystem of a suitable section of the flow for the three cases studied. Then the existence of all the possible types of final evolution follows.     

A phloroglucinol derivative with a new carbon skeleton from Hypericum perforatum (Guttiferae)

Examination of the aerial parts of a Chinese herbal medicine yielded a novel metabolite, perforatumone 1, which is characterized by its unique carbon skeleton. Its structure was determined by detailed spectroscopic analysis.
